的士短加長減方案引起業界嚴重分歧，司機大佬們更以激烈工業行動以表不滿。始作俑者，無可否認是政府。政府由始至終不肯正視八折黨的問題，漠視法例容許乘客自由議價所帶出的弊病。不準司機議價卻容許乘客自由議價是不管麻鷹管雞仔。立法要求全面按錶收費是唯一解決方法。政府說按錶收費執法會有問題，但相信香港人都是守法的；只要有法可依，相信不會很多人會以身試法。一向認為，永遠有人衝紅燈不代表不應有紅綠燈。
社會有利益衝突是自然現象，最重要的是，必須要公平及合理地化解這些衝突。

My brother is a taxi driver, do you know it's really hard to make a living!! And then, Mr. Tong, you must rarely take a taxi for a long ride, a 20% off is really a better deal especially with today's economy. I honour justice and fairness, however, need to be realistic as well!
So are you for or against the idea of the law prohibiting any form of fare bargaining?
If the law is fair enough and give the taxi driver reasonable living, why not? But until then, leave as it is!
