又一位年青人放棄生命。今天看報又見到一位科大畢業生輕生，父母相擁痛哭，聞者心酸，見者落淚。我深深感受到他們的哀痛。
我們可以做怎麼？這殘酷的社會是否已到了無可救藥的邊緣？
今天的年青人可能缺乏了一支明燈、一隻導盲犬、一句關懷的說話、一個微笑.......
為何我們不可以開展一個「明燈行動」，透過電郵，將這訊息傳開去?
請今天就向你的年青朋友，說一句關懷的說話，那怕只是一句「你好嗎？」都比活在一個沈默，冰冷的社會好......

The harsh realities of life are much harsher than what many of our young people could cope with these days. An email may brighten up their day, but it won't solve the fundamental problems, which lie in a society that is very much consumed by greed and arrogance rather than kindness and compassion. I am pretty pessimistic. Even if we could change governments (which we can't), there is no way we can change our culture that is so entrenched. I suspect that five or ten years down the road, Hong Kong is going to become even worse.
Then all the more we should make it a brighter place today....
I don't think that there is nothing that we can do to change the culture no matter how difficult it could be. I don't expect fundamental problems could be solved within a very short time, but just that if we know that there is a fundamental problem, and do try our best to work out a way to have it solved, then I am quite sure that even if we are not going to solve a problem, we must be on the way to change the culture to the better.
We, or I myself, cannot aim high to change the government or society at present. However, I believe being or learning to be a responsible parent is vital to our children's development and value system. Let's complain less and do more for our younger generations. Pessimism only worsens lives.
Is it the lighthouse at Collinson Cape in the picture?
No, this is a picture I took when I was at Cornwall, England earlier on this year. The lighthouse is at Hartland Point and is still in service.
